Mary Elizabeth Donaldson became a princess of Denmark.
The couple met in Sydney on the summer Olympics in 2000. Prince Frederik of Denmark introduced himself as “Fred” and didn’t say Mary he was the prince as long as they didn’t know each other well.
They were married on May 14, 2004.
