Abraham Lincoln did not die of syphilis, because he was shot in a theater during a performance. But researchers say that he would not have lived long because of the last stage of syphilis. The president himself said that he has infected by an unknown woman with whom he slept. Lincoln also infected his wife Mary Told. She and three of their common children died of syphilis.
