Fact 8. The Soviet submarine D-3 in 1938 made a historic passage under the ice of the Arctic. So it became the first boat in the world which has made a long voyage in the Arctic. Also, the D-3 crossed the meridian for the first time in history, following into the Greenland Sea, and became the first Soviet submarine, which appeared in the Western Hemisphere.
