In 2000 there was one of the worst disasters in the history of the submarine in the Barents Sea at a depth of 150 meters – the sinking of the Russian submarine “Kursk”, when all the crew members died. After some time, the authorities stated that the cause of the accident was the explosion of the torpedo in the torpedo room.
