Mabel Wisse Smith got the Dutch title of Princess.
Mabel met Prince Johan Friso thanks to their common friend Laurentien Brinkhorst, who later became the wife of his brother Johan, Prince Constantine. Johan waived his right to the throne, as the government has refused to submit their marriage. The reason was that Mabel had a romantic relationship with a known drug lord while she studied in college.
They married on April 24, 2004. Prince Friso died in 2013.
