Alexander the Great (356-323 BC). The king of Macedonia and Asia is known as a great conqueror, and at the same time as a loser. He was the founder of a vast empire, which however collapsed immediately after the ruler’s death. The greatest conquests of Alexander were the lands of modern Bulgaria, northern Greece, Turkey, Syria, Egypt and other countries up to India. The commander was 8 times seriously wounded but he died of a fever at the age of 33 years.
