23. Gastaf III Airport, St. Barthélemy. This airport has a horribly short runway, which usually serves small aircraft with a capacity of no more than 20 passengers. There is the runway at the base of the slope, which ends at the beach. Because of the hilly terrain, planes are dangerous already on approach, and take-off occurs almost above the heads of holidaymakers on the beach.
