August 19, 1980 – the crash of L-1011 of airline Saudi Arabian Airlines, 301 dead. A few minutes after the departure from Karachi, a fire broke out on board an airliner operating SVA163 on the Karachi-Riyadh-Jeddah route. The crew of the plane made an emergency landing in Riyadh, but due to the fact that emergency services for 23 minutes opened the door to the passenger compartment, the liner burned out completely. All those who were on board the plane were killed.
