September 11, 2001 – 11 flights of American Airlines, attack of the northern tower of the WTC in New York. Airliner Boeing 767-223ER, flying from Boston to Los Angeles, was captured by terrorists. In front of thousands of people, an airplane rammed one of the “twins”. It was the first airliner involved in the terrorist attack. The tower caught fire and after 102 minutes collapsed to neighboring areas. As a result of the terrorist attack, 92 people were killed on board the aircraft, and more than 1,600 people were killed in or near the building.
