5. Nancy Reagan (1981 – 1989). Until the election of Ronald Reagan, the 40th US President, Mrs. Reagan was an actress. She strongly supported her husband during the election campaign, organized press conferences, controlled many processes. After the victory, Nancy began to perform the usual duties of the First Lady. Mrs. Reagan was very stylish and loved luxury – she spent enormous amounts on clothes, for which she was repeatedly criticized. Nevertheless, the people loved her.
